Core Values

Faithful to Scripture

At Grace we recognize the inerrancy and infallibility of the scripture along with its life-changing power. From rebirth to full maturity, scripture is clear that God’s word both brings us to saving faith and grows us to maturity. For this reason, we strive to keep God’s word central and rely upon its truth to govern us and to change us. In practice we do this by prioritizing expository preaching on Sunday mornings, saturating all of our ministries with scripture, and allowing the word of God to have the final say in all aspects of church life.

Christ Exalting

All of scripture is the story of Christ. From the shadows of Christ in the OT, to His fulness in the NT, we believe all of scripture is the glorious story of Jesus Christ redeeming sinners and being exalted by the Father. Since scripture is so Christ-focused, we want our church to be Christ-focused as well, and we make it our aim to magnify Him in our worship gatherings and body life. From the songs we sing, to the focus of our teaching, to the way we treat one another, we want to see Christ emulated and glorified among our people.

Serious Discipleship

Scripture is clear that the proper response to the grace of Christ is full submission to His lordship. In fact, the early church was known for their proclamation: Jesus Christ is Lord. Following Christ entails forsaking ourselves and giving our all to Him, and doing so on a daily basis. For this reason, we hope to cultivate serious commitment by holding a high view of personal holiness, and constantly admonishing our members to repent of sin and conform to the righteous standard of Christ.

Mission Focused

Having defeated sin on the cross, Christ has been given all authority and is now reigning at the right hand of the Father. This reality gives great hope for believers as they endeavor to share the good news of Christ and drastically changes their outlook on the world. This world is not our home, but a battlefield where the truth of Christ suppresses the already defeated kingdom of darkness. Having recognized this, we desire for believers to be regularly reminded of our mission in this world. Members at Grace are encouraged to be proactive as they seek opportunities to communicate the message of Christ, and labor for the gospel to go out to the ends of the earth.

Selfless Community

Christ in His exaltation has begun a work of mending that which was once fractured, and the greatest expression of this mending work is the unity on display in the church. In scripture, the healthy church is defined by peaceable relationships, joyful unity, and selfless individuals living for one-another. We hope to do community well at Grace and we recognize that the fuel behind biblical unity is sound doctrine. Christians who have a firm grasp of scripture understand who they are and how to live properly, and they are equipped to speak the truth with their neighbor and thus build them up. Our hope is that our membership knows God’s truth not simply to gain knowledge, but to practice it and apply it to the way we live in community.
